Among the many exceptional things the Outer Banks can lay claim to is the first solo powered flight. At 10:35 a.m. Dec. 17, 1903, Orville Wright managed to get briefly airborne, his infamous Wright Flyer covering more than 120 feet of sandy ground.
So, obviously, we had a great deal to live up to in designing our own methods of solo flight! Our finely crafted hammock-styled single swings won’t take you any real distance, and you’ll never be more than a few feet off the ground in one, but we guarantee you’ll adore the journey, wanting to take it over and over again!
For us, getting you nowhere happily, and safely, is entirely the point.
And while the game-changing Wright Flyer was a powered aircraft, any movement you want to make in a Nags Head Hammocks single swing will be pretty much on your own! Kick your feet in the air a little to sway, or else sit with them planted firmly on the ground to easily rock yourself to and fro. And voilà! A historic level of relaxation!
