Durable Fabrics

Not only is the craftsmanship of our swings the highest level of quality, but we also choose the highest quality outdoor fabrics as well. We use a combination of Bella Dura Fabric and our in-house brand DURACORD® Fabric. Bella Dura branded fabric is one of the foremost outdoor fabric in the industry made from 100% solution-dyed polyolefin. Solution-dyed polyolefin, which means the fibers of the fabric are dyed in a color before they are woven into the fabric. Bella Dura is not printed or dyed after the fabric is made. Bella Dura is water-resistant and will not fade. You can even soak it in bleach and the color will remain the same. This is why we use Bella Dura fabric on the tops of our swings. DURACORD® fabric is not only fast drying but is also resistant to rot, mold, mildew, and staining, as well as Bella Dura. We use the DURACORD® Fabric on the bottom of our fabric swings because DURACORD® has better abrasion resistance than Bella Dura.

Cumaru Frame

A Brazilian hardwood similar to teak, Cumaru, is 5 times harder and denser than pine, cedar, and redwood. Exclusive to Nags Head Hammocks, our Cumaru hardwood has a history of outstanding outdoor performance. Even after years of use, our Cumaru hardwood ages naturally to a beautiful silver-grey without losing any of its durability.

Hardware

Equipped with 316 marine-grade stainless steel hardware, offering superior rust resistance and longevity even in the harshest environments. The galvanized steel hanging chains add an extra layer of protection against corrosion, ensuring your swing remains secure and beautiful for years to come.

Non-absorbent Fiberfill

Each of our cushioned swings are filled with plush fiberfill filling made from recycled plastic, offering an eco-friendly alternative without compromising on softness and support. The fiberfill is a nonabsorbent material allowing water to drain through and provide quick drying. This innovative filling provides a luxurious seating experience, ensuring that you and your loved ones can relax in ultimate comfort

Despite the advanced weatherability of a Nags Head Hammocks product, we do always recommend storing it in an enclosed dry place away from harsh chemicals and foraging wildlife during prolonged bad weather and other protracted periods when it's going unused, to ensure its longest possible life.
